Huge, powerful, and intimidating, Gerard is far less devious than any of
his brothers or sisters and he knows his limitations. He is more
trusting of the others, and toward Amber he is unquestioningly loyal.
Gerard was the one who insisted on caring for Brand until his brother's
safety could be guaranteed, and yet he did not hesitate to join Corwin
against Brand when the latter's conspiracy could finally be proven. He
is for Amber, pure and simple.
