Dworkin
Mad, abstract, and totally beyond the realities of even the Amberian
royalites, Dworkin is the supreme artist, the artist who can mold reality
out of art. Born in Chaos, he escaped to create the Patten of Amber,
thereby giving shape, boundary, line and form to a world before him had
none. In that sense he is a God-figure, a shaper, a maker, "a poietes"
in the language of the Greeks. It is said that he was sly and devilish
in youth, as scheming and conniving as any of the current Amberites. But
to say anyone knows him is a foolish exaggeration.
