Corwin
The narrator of the first five Amber books, Corwin was Oberon's choice
for the next King of Amber. After his capture by Eric, in fact, Corwin
crowned himself king, albeit mainly to disrupt Eric's own coronation. by
the end of his war with Brand, though, Corwin no longer wanted the
throne, and he welcomed the Unicorn's selection of Random for the
kingship. This confirmed that Corwin had changed in the course of his
Chronicles from an impetuous, selfish man to a true prince of Amber. In
the end, he alone saved Amber from destruction. At present, his
whereabouts are completely unknown.
